THERE IS/THERE ARE + SOME/ANY

THERE IS / THERE ARE

We use there is & there are to talk about the existance of something for the first time. We could translate these expresion to Basque as dago and daude and to Spanish as hay.

We use there is when we talk about singular objects and there are when we talk about plural objects.

We can contract these fors as:

                there is > there's
                there are > there're

We use A /AN with THERE IS:

There is a dog / there is an apple.
            There isn't a dog. /there isn't an apple.

We use SOME /ANY with THERE ARE:

There are two dogs/ there are two apples.
There are some dogs/there are some apples.
           There aren't any dogs/there aren't any apples.

We reverse the word oder in the interrogative sentences:

          Is there a/an .....?
          Are there any.......?
